Following their victory in the national football championship for the 2025/2026 season, Hapoel Be'er Sheva secured their place in the second of four rounds of the Champions League qualifiers.

The first hurdle was successfully cleared by the Reds from the south with a 3:2 aggregate victory over Iceland's Vikingur, and yesterday (Tuesday), they defeated the Serbian champion, Red Star Belgrade, with a score of 1:0.

Now, as the return leg between the teams approaches and is set to take place on August 11, Alona Barkat is opening her wallet and promising Hapoel Be'er Sheva players a bonus of 100,000 shekels if they maintain the lead and qualify for the Champions League playoffs. This was reported on the 'Terneria' Instagram page.

The playoffs are the fourth round of the Champions League qualifiers, and the mere act of reaching them entitles Hapoel Be'er Sheva to a grant of 4.29 million euros (about 15 million shekels). Reaching the group stage will entitle the club to a grant of 18.62 million euros (about 64 million shekels).

Now, Ran Kozuch's charges are heading to Belgrade with a slight 1:0 lead, but the absence of Matan Baltaxa in the defensive line (due to a red card from the first game) is expected to cast a shadow over the Israeli champion's journey toward the group stage.
