Alona Barkat Bids Farewell to Helder Lopes: "He Was a Significant Cog in the Team"
Hapoel Be'er Sheva's defender is leaving the club after five successful seasons. The team honored his legacy, highlighting his contributions on the pitch and his strong connection to the fans.
Hapoel Be'er Sheva, owned by Alona Barkat, bids farewell today, Wednesday, to Helder Lopes, who is departing after five seasons in the red uniform.
Lopes, who played as a defender, signed with the club in the summer of 2011. Since then, he has recorded 198 appearances across all competitions and scored 26 goals. During his tenure, the player won the national championship, two State Cups, and two Champion of Champions titles.
The southern club issued a heartfelt statement:
"Helder was a significant cog in the team during these seasons and took a central part in our European campaigns."
They further described his impact:
"Beyond his ability on the pitch, Helder stood out in the locker room and was always ready to help with any request and any fan. He connected strongly to the club, the city, and the country, and served as the team captain in many games."
"Thank you very much for every action on and off the pitch; we will always remain one red family. We wish you much success on your path ahead," the club concluded.
In the Negev, the management has been searching for a left-back with international experience to immediately fill the void left by Lopes. In recent days, the club has been on the verge of completing the signing of Pedro Amador, a 27-year-old Portuguese left-back. Amador, a product of the Braga academy, previously played for Moreirense and Atlanta United in the MLS. The club believes his defensive and offensive capabilities fit the required profile perfectly.
