Alleged Abuse of Wounded Soldiers at Rambam: Chilling Testimonies Emerge

Minister of Defense Israel Katz and Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir have ordered an immediate and thorough investigation following serious allegations of inappropriate behavior and humiliating treatment by staff at Rambam Hospital toward IDF soldiers wounded in battle in Lebanon. The public outcry follows testimonies from family members regarding the abusive treatment of wounded soldiers hospitalized at the medical center in Haifa.

The investigation was prompted by a post published by Yehoshua Shani, whose nephew Eitan was seriously wounded in Lebanon. According to the testimony, after the soldier woke up from anesthesia and ventilation, family members were removed from the ward during the night and the doors were locked. It was further claimed that when his brother finally entered, he found him thirsty with no staff present, and that the soldier reported that staff members moved him brutally, causing his head to slam against the bed.

Minister of Defense Israel Katz stated:

"If it turns out that any of the staff members treated the wounded soldiers in an inappropriate manner, this will not be overlooked."

Minister Itamar Ben Gvir added that "this is a serious scandal that should concern every citizen." Conversely, Rambam Hospital stated:

"At Rambam, high-quality and professional care is provided to all patients, and certainly to IDF soldiers. We take any allegation of inappropriate treatment with full seriousness and are investigating."

The hospital added that in recent months, hundreds of wounded soldiers have been treated at the trauma center and received the best care. The family has demanded a review of security camera footage to identify those present during the shift, while the Minister of Defense has instructed that findings be presented to him as soon as possible to ensure such incidents do not recur.
