Immediate Travel Warning for Israelis in Greece: "Stay Away from Crowded Places"
Greece has declared tomorrow a "day of rage" at major tourist sites aimed at disrupting the summer vacations of Israelis. Demonstrations are expected at approximately 40 locations across cities and islands.
One of the preferred vacation destinations for Israelis is set to become a scene of intense confrontation tomorrow, Sunday, August 9, as local left-wing organizations and pro-Palestinian movements organize a "day of rage" at the country's most popular tourist sites. The organizers' goal is to disrupt the summer vacation of Israelis and harm their daily routine.
Greece has declared a "day of rage" that will include about 40 protest centers in major cities and popular Greek islands, including Athens, Thessaloniki, Crete, and Mykonos, where protesters are calling for the expulsion of Israeli tourists.
In preparation for this, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has published a "recommendation for increased caution" for Israelis staying in Greece. The Ministry recommends that Israelis exercise increased vigilance, stay away from protest centers and gatherings, and avoid any friction or confrontation with protesters. In addition, the Ministry advises concealing Israeli and Jewish symbols and avoiding posting real-time locations on social media.
"Israelis in Greece are asked to follow the announcements of local authorities and the media, stay updated on developments, and obey the instructions of local security forces," the warning notice stated.
