Alanis Morissette Comes Out as Pansexual During Podcast Appearance
Canadian singer Alanis Morissette publicly came out as pansexual during a podcast appearance, discussing her identity alongside recent legal battles and her storied career.

Canadian singer Alanis Morissette publicly came out as pansexual during an appearance on the Handsome podcast, hosted by Tig Notaro, Fortune Feimster, and Mae Martin. During a lighthearted exchange, Feimster remarked on Morissette's past relationships, prompting the 52-year-old artist to confirm her pansexuality. When Notaro jokingly questioned if she was serious, Morissette firmly reiterated her statement, later adding with a smile that she prefers keeping such revelations for the epilogue.
Pansexuality is defined as romantic, emotional, or sexual attraction to individuals regardless of their sex or gender identity. Morissette has been married to Mario Souleay Treadway since 2010, and the couple shares three children: Ever, 15, Onyx, 10, and Winter, 7. This revelation follows her appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast in September, where she recalled initiating an on-screen kiss with Sarah Jessica Parker during a guest appearance in 2000, describing the experience as remarkably pleasant and natural.
Alongside personal milestones, including her recent induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and her legendary 1995 breakthrough album Jagged Little Pill, Morissette has faced legal battles. In September, she filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles against her former tour manager, Karyn Orinov, accusing her of attempted extortion and framing attempts involving drug smuggling during an European tour.
According to court documents, Orinov was caught with narcotics in her luggage and subsequently attempted to blackmail the singer by threatening to shift the blame. Despite these legal challenges, Morissette continues to celebrate her enduring musical legacy, nearly three decades after her iconic album transformed global rock music.
