Artificial intelligence is increasingly permeating daily routines, offering solutions from managing schedules to reducing household expenses. Tamar Dobrin, an AI engineer with five years of industry experience, has viralized a method to combat the high cost of living in Israel by leveraging AI tools to slash grocery bills by up to 20%.

Faced with soaring supermarket prices, Dobrin sought to streamline her grocery shopping by shifting from frequent small purchases to a single consolidated weekly run. Finding no ready-made API for comprehensive Israeli supermarket price comparisons across specific addresses, she turned to Claude Code. Using natural language prompts, she instructed the AI to compile a geographic list of nearby supermarkets and cross-reference real-time branch pricing data. Her partner utilized Grok to run parallel queries, while Dobrin expanded her search radius via Claude. The experiment successfully pinpointed a Rami Levy branch in Bnei Brak offering her exact shopping list at a 20% discount compared to her local neighborhood branch.

Dobrin packaged her automated workflow into a custom tool available on her platform. While the initial search requires a few minutes to map local addresses, subsequent queries execute instantly. Addressing consumer skepticism, Dobrin noted that her partner immediately purchased the items based on the AI-generated list, relying on regulatory compliance for price accuracy. However, she clarifies that she does not link her financial accounts directly to AI models.

Dedicated to bridging the digital divide, Dobrin focuses her content on non-technical audiences. She warns against impulsively purchasing costly AI subscriptions or courses, emphasizing that mastering a single ecosystem yields better results than acquiring numerous tools. Furthermore, she advises consumers to utilize AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT for automated price comparisons during major shopping seasons, signaling the gradual shift of internet searches toward autonomous AI agents.
