"I saw death with my own eyes": A family dispute in Jisr az-Zarqa led to a brutal assault on a 23-year-old woman from the town. The young woman, who is engaged to a relative of the attackers, was invited to a house for a discussion, but was instead lured into an ambush.
In the footage filmed by the attackers, they can be seen punching and kicking the victim, hitting her with a chair, and cutting her hair with a knife — all while some of them laugh in the background. The suspects were taken in for questioning and their detention has been extended.
The young woman told ynet:
"Two days ago, I received a phone call from a young woman who asked me to come over to resolve a dispute. As soon as I arrived at the house, a group of eight or more young women grabbed me and started beating me severely, including punches, kicks, and blows with a chair. They insulted and abused me verbally. They even asked a child to urinate on my head. Afterward, they cut off part of my hair with a knife. They sat on me and forcibly pulled down my pants. I begged them to stop, but nothing helped."
She added that since the incident, she has been unable to sleep due to the trauma:
"I was injured and received medical treatment. I am still in mental distress from the shock. I never expected to be attacked in such a way. Even after I filed a complaint with the police, I received threatening phone calls demanding that I withdraw the complaint. I am standing my ground until I achieve full justice from everyone involved in this crime."
The police opened an investigation and stated: "We view this case with the utmost seriousness and severity. We have arrested those involved in the assault." The detention of the attackers was extended by one day.
