An indictment has been filed against two young men, aged 29 and 23 from Afula and Nof HaGalil, for the violent assault of an acquaintance in downtown Afula. According to police reports, the October 5, 2026 incident involved multiple attackers who surrounded the victim and used a box cutter, spikes, and a screwdriver to stab him repeatedly while his partner was also injured.

Investigators from the Northern District police revealed that the victim was walking with his partner toward a food stand when he passed the suspects, greeted them, and continued on his way. Minutes later, the suspects and their associates cornered him, preventing escape, and subjected him to a prolonged beating using sharp weapons across his entire body.

Following the physical assault, the perpetrators threatened to shoot the victim if he reported the incident to law enforcement and ordered him to leave Afula. The suspects fled the city and evaded capture for over two weeks before Northern District officers tracked them down and arrested them. The Nazareth Prosecution Office has formally submitted charges along with a request to hold the defendants in custody until the conclusion of legal proceedings.
