Clashes in Hebron: IDF source reports Israeli citizen fired in the air
IDF forces entered the Al-Jabari neighborhood following reports of clashes involving mutual stone-throwing and an Israeli citizen firing into the air. Palestinians report 10 injuries, including some from gunfire.
Palestinians reported this morning, Sunday, that 10 people were injured in the Al-Jabari neighborhood of Hebron during overnight clashes with settlers. A military source told Ynet that friction developed in the city's Jewish quarter between Palestinians and Jews, involving stone-throwing from both sides and an Israeli citizen firing into the air.
The Palestinian news agency "Wafa" reported that two Palestinians, aged 60 and 46, were wounded by gunfire, while eight others suffered physical assault. The report noted that the army conducted house searches and arrested several Palestinians, including the 46-year-old man reportedly wounded by gunfire.
Simultaneously, in the village of Beit Einun, there were reports of settlers attacking a family, with Palestinians claiming over 20 injuries and 12 arrests by the IDF. In Tarqumiya, reports emerged of soldiers raiding homes and beating residents. The Palestinian agency further claimed that forces raided a house in the Al-Mantara area, north of Hebron, arresting a 20-year-old man.
Just a week ago, residents in the southern Hebron Hills reported a series of attacks involving stone-throwing, gunfire, and attempted arson. Conversely, Jewish residents in the area maintain that some clashes were initiated by Palestinians throwing stones at Jewish shepherds, and that online footage shows only partial context.
Late last week, a report surfaced regarding property arson in the Wadi ar-Rahim area of Masafer Yatta. Muhammad Abd ar-Rahman Jabrin stated that his family was targeted around 02:30 AM by settlers carrying containers of flammable material.
"They wanted to burn the whole house," he claimed.
Jewish residents rejected these claims, offering a different account of events documented on Saturday. Footage from the outskirts of Idhna shows Israelis beating a Palestinian while a soldier restrains him on the ground. However, owners of a nearby farm stated the incident began when Palestinians drove up to Jewish shepherds and threw stones at them. According to them, the responding military force pursued the stone-throwers and asked the shepherds to assist in identifying the suspects.
