Eldar Dayan murder case: Five youths involved in the brawl brought to court
According to investigators, the suspects kicked the victim in the head, causing a fatal brain hemorrhage. Meanwhile, the detention of Dayan's friends, Maxim Barberman and Omri Peretz, has been extended, as police interrogation revealed that their testimonies contradict established facts.
Five youths involved in the brawl that preceded the death of Eldar Dayan were brought to the Petah Tikva Magistrate's Court today, Thursday. According to investigators, the suspects kicked the victim in the head, causing a brain hemorrhage that later led to his death. The police have requested that the court extend their detention by 8 days.
At the same time, the detention of Omri Peretz and Maxim Barberman, friends of Dayan who are also suspected of his murder, was extended yesterday by an additional six days. Upon the expiration of this period, the police will require authorization from the Attorney General to further extend their detention, as the total duration will exceed 30 days.
Yesterday, it was reported in "HaYom" that the testimonies of Peretz and Barberman contradict the facts. While they claimed they moved to an open area due to the arrival of a police vehicle, it was discovered that the patrol only arrived at the scene at a later stage. The body was subsequently found in that same area. Furthermore, Peretz claimed to have lost his phone, but it was later found at his home in Dimona.
