Adva Tzmicha Fund Invests 500,000 NIS in Eco-Design Company MOLET
Adva Tzmicha investment fund invests 500,000 NIS in MOLET to expand its wooden pallet upcycling business to northern Israel and the Western Negev. The fund's founder, Edward Mizrahi, focuses on peripheral growth.
The Adva Tzmicha investment fund will invest 500,000 NIS in MOLET, a company that upcycles wooden shipping pallets into furniture and designed products. In accordance with the fund's policy, this investment will enable MOLET to finance its expansion into the Western Negev and northern Israel. The investment is expected to eventually grow to 1.5 million NIS.
This marks the second investment by the fund, which was launched a few months ago. Its first investment was in Mantra, a casual menswear brand that is also slated to expand into peripheral regions in central and northern Israel.
Betting on the Periphery
In a previous interview, the fund's founder, Jewish-Spanish businessman Edward Mizrahi, who made Aliyah to Israel, explained his investment philosophy:
"To invest in real estate in central Tel Aviv or in the high-tech sector, which is already flooded with money, you don't need me. I have no relative advantage there. The wisdom is to identify the place that is about to succeed before it happens. My bet is on the North and the Negev — in 10 years, I believe they will be much stronger."
Over the past few months, the fund has focused on identifying opportunities primarily among small and medium-sized businesses, aiming to invest in them for expansion and business growth. Regarding the current investment, Mizrahi stated:
"MOLET is exactly the type of business we want to invest in — a business with existing operations, a proven model, and expansion potential. We believe this investment will allow it to make the next leap forward and expand its activities to the North and the Western Negev."
Upcycling and Social Impact
MOLET specializes in giving new life to discarded wooden loading pallets, transforming them through design and craftsmanship into furniture, products, and new spaces. Alongside this, the company runs design and woodworking workshops using recycled wood for organizations, the general public, resilience programs for IDF reservists, architectural and design projects, and educational programs in kindergartens, schools, municipalities, and community centers.
Over the years, MOLET's clients and partners have included major corporations, local authorities, medical and academic institutions, and educational bodies. Among them are Google, Wix, Meta, Azrieli Group, Migdal Capital Markets, Lemonade, Super-Pharm, Ichilov Hospital, Weizmann Institute of Science, the Kan public broadcaster, BUYME, Harel Insurance, and the municipalities of Tel Aviv-Yafo and Givatayim.
