Adi Buzaglo Opens Up About Reality TV, Marriage Crises, and Weight Loss
Adi Buzaglo opens up about reality TV, her 20-year marriage, severe hearing loss, dropping 30 kilograms, and navigating public life alongside her husband, Assi Buzaglo.

Adi Buzaglo, 39, is long past being defined merely as someone's wife. After stepping into the reality TV arena for the first time on a couple's show alongside her husband, Assi Buzaglo, 43, she got a full taste of the spotlight: praise, harsh criticism, venomous comments, and heavy questions about their relationship. Now, speaking in an open interview, Buzaglo shares what doesn't always make it onto the screen: the crises that pushed her and Assi to the rabbinical court twice, her ultimate ultimatum, severe hearing loss and the surgery she refuses to undergo, the 30 kilograms she lost and the eating disorders that accompanied her journey, and the moments when online trolls still manage to get under her skin.
Reflecting on the grueling reality TV experience, Buzaglo admits it was far from easy. "You cross the globe, leave four children, a dog, and a cat, and you're completely cut off without a phone. You live only the game, and you have only your husband, and he has only you," she says. Despite the challenges, she viewed the show as a platform to show the public who Adi really is—someone who overcame physical limitations and a profound hearing impairment.
Living with Hearing Loss and Online Hate
Diagnosed with significant hearing loss later in life, Buzaglo started wearing hearing aids at age 36. She calls the condition a strange kind of gift because it shields her from hearing malicious gossip. However, adapting to them has not been simple. "The brain needs to hear all the time to understand," she explains. While doctors suggested a cochlear implant, Assi firmly opposes it out of fear that the surgery might fail and leave her completely deaf, preferring to act as her living ears instead.
Dealing with public scrutiny and severe online criticism is another daily battle. Despite being labeled a submissive wife by trolls, Buzaglo laughs off the absurdity. "I am the most opinionated person there is," she states. Though she tries to avoid reading negative comments, she occasionally falls into the trap. Yet, the tragedy of October 7 shifted her perspective entirely, bringing deep anxiety for her family and teaching her not to seek validation or apologies from others.
Overcoming Crises and Financial Shifts
Together for 23 years and married for 20, Adi and Assi are the first to admit their marriage hasn't been a fairy tale. They reached the rabbinical court twice in the past, facing steep marital cliffs. "I broke the rules and he fought back," Adi recalls. "He didn't give up on the home." Over time, she learned the power of silence and restraint, shedding her impulsive need to always have the final word.
Financial dynamics in the household also evolved over the years. In the past, when Adi earned more, she managed the household budget. After Assi returned from a reality survival show, the roles reversed, and he took over the financial helm. Today, they maintain a stable life, though Buzaglo notes that peace of mind is a rare commodity in Israel's current economic climate.
Weight Loss, Eating Disorders, and Body Image
Shedding 30 kilograms transformed Adi's public appearance, bringing both applause and unfounded rumors of bariatric surgery. Setting the record straight, she clarifies that she never underwent weight-loss surgery. Instead, she had a cosmetic tummy tuck years ago, which was later affected by subsequent pregnancies. True change came only after she returned from a trip, looked at a photograph of herself, and decided to step out of her comfort zone through strict nutrition and consistent exercise.
She connects her past struggles with eating disorders directly to stressful work environments and financial instability during their early years. Today, as a mother, she is fiercely careful not to project body-image issues onto her children, especially her daughter Aire, ensuring they always feel confident and loved.
