Act Security Raises $60 Million to Combat AI-Driven Cloud Threats
The founders of Act Security warn that excessive cloud permissions pose an immediate danger in the AI era. Their new platform is designed to block security breaches at the structural level before attackers can exploit them.

Act Security, founded by the creators of Medigate, has raised $60 million to date across two funding rounds. The company, which employs approximately 50 people in Israel and the USA, is revealing its product today (Tuesday) for the first time. The platform addresses infrastructure-level security risks in cloud services by eliminating the access paths that enable cyberattacks.
The rapid development of artificial intelligence has rendered traditional approaches like patching ineffective, as security teams struggle to manage the constant stream of vulnerabilities. The new platform from Act Security does not focus on fixing individual vulnerabilities, but rather eliminates the conditions that allow them to be exploited by reducing the attack surface through clear boundaries for users, applications, data, and AI agents.
Yonatan Langer, co-founder and CEO of Act Security, stated:
"Nearly 97% of access permissions in the cloud are not in use, and new AI agents receive those same old permissions and operate around the clock without human intervention, which increases the risk of security breaches."
According to Langer, the development of models like Claude Mythos has proven that solving security issues by fixing vulnerabilities is no longer viable, as the root cause—the permissions architecture—remains unaddressed. Act Security aims to secure the cloud environment at a structural level before an attack even begins.
Organizations have accumulated a massive volume of unnecessary access permissions over the years. While this risk was once manageable when exploitation was a slow, human-led process, AI-armed attackers have made the issue urgent. The Act Security platform allows organizations to reduce excessive access and solve the risk at its root.
Liran Grinberg, co-founder at Team8, commented on the investment:
"We invested in Act thanks to the exceptional quality of the founding team, who identified the permissions and access problem before the rest of the market. For over a decade, cloud security focused on presenting risks; the Act platform is the first to actually remove them. In an era where AI systems exploit exposures in minutes, this is the new standard in the cyber field."
