"Stole thousands of shekels": A woman from Haifa was arrested on suspicion of scamming a Holocaust survivor

A Haifa resident was arrested a few days ago on suspicion of scamming a Holocaust survivor in her 90s. According to a police statement released today (Tuesday), the suspect stole the elderly woman's credit card and went on a shopping spree worth thousands of shekels.
The investigation revealed that the suspect, a 54-year-old Haifa resident, first stole the victim's credit card during a shared trip, and later arrived at her home under the pretext of performing "medical examinations." There, she allegedly stole additional property belonging to the Holocaust survivor. Following these acts, she went shopping with the credit card and purchased items totaling thousands of shekels. After being arrested by the police, it was discovered that the suspect was under electronic monitoring, which she allegedly violated while committing the offenses. Following all the suspicions, the police will request today (Tuesday) from the Haifa Magistrate's Court to extend her detention.
