6 teenagers against the instructor: The indictment shaking the kibbutz

The State Attorney's Office filed an indictment today, Sunday, at the Central District Court in Lod against 30-year-old Eitan Shahar, an instructor at a kibbutz in the Shefela region, for committing indecent acts against teenagers he instructed. The prosecution is requesting that the court order his continued detention until the end of the legal proceedings.

From the indictment filed by Adv. Einav Vinograd of the Central District Attorney's Office, it emerges that between 2024 and his arrest, Shahar committed indecent acts against six teenagers in 7th-8th grades whom he instructed at the kibbutz. On many occasions, while performing his duties—such as driving the minors around the kibbutz or accompanying them to the pool or the beach—Shahar would expose his genitals to them, press against them, and rub against their bodies. He allegedly did so for the purpose of sexual stimulation, degradation, or gratification.

The case was investigated at the Kiryat Malachi police station. During his interrogation, the defendant claimed the accusations were fabricated and denied the charges. Conversely, investigators collected testimonies from the six teenagers detailing the alleged acts, noting that they had liked him as an instructor and were afraid to complain for fear of ruining his life. The evidence also includes testimonies from parents and friends to whom the teenagers reported the incidents, as well as correspondence between the teenagers themselves.
