At 43: The well-known social media star was brutally murdered because of a TikTok video
A mother of two posted a difficult post about her estranged husband, but the protective order did not prevent the tragedy. Her young son reported the shocking shooting to the emergency center, which left the network in shock.

The video online predicted the worst: Sarah Gilson (43), a content creator and mother of two from Oklahoma, posted a TikTok video in which she accused her estranged husband of pedophilia. Less than two weeks later, and despite a protective order issued against him, the husband broke into her home, shot her to death, and took his own life.
The deadly drama unfolded on the night of July 23 in the town of Owasso. The emergency call center received a chilling call in which screams and crying were heard, quickly followed by the sounds of gunfire. On the line was Gilson's son, who reported in tears that his stepfather, Jeremiah "Sean" Duffy (48), had shot his mother. Police forces summoned to the scene found both of them without signs of life. The initial investigation confirmed the suspicion: Duffy murdered Gilson and committed suicide.
The shocking incident stunned social media, mainly due to a chilling video that Gilson uploaded on July 11. As part of a popular trend where users imagine what a documentary about their lives would look like, she wrote:
"Preparing for the day Netflix releases a documentary on my husband, who I am divorcing after finding out he is a pedophile."
Behind the text stood a grim reality: against Duffy, who coached a girls' basketball team, complaints were filed regarding inappropriate sexual behavior toward a 15-year-old girl. Gilson even obtained an emergency restraining order after Duffy threatened her with a gun, but the court order failed to prevent the disaster.
Now, as the police complete the investigation, a crowdfunding campaign has been set up on GoFundMe with the goal of assisting Gilson's two children who were left orphans, and to ensure their future and the mental health care they need following the horrific night.
