4-0 was not enough for Celtic: LASK in the Champions League for the first time

After the disappointment of Hapoel Be'er Sheva and the historic qualification of Sabah to the Champions League, two more tickets were distributed on Tuesday to the prestigious tournament via the playoffs: the Norwegian Bodo/Glimt secured the first, while Celtic lost the second in a magnificent collapse and saw LASK make history.

LASK - Celtic 5:1 (5:4 on aggregate, after extra time). Even a 4-0 lead - three goals in Glasgow and one more tonight in Linz - was not enough for the Scottish champion. The game went into extra time, where Adeniran took advantage of a careless loss by substitute Luke McCowan and a poor reaction by Viljami Sinisalo in goal to make history for LASK in the 109th minute. The American could have completed a hat-trick, but the Finnish goalkeeper saved his penalty in the 115th minute. This did not prevent great celebrations by the hosts, who won their first championship in 61 years, completed a double by lifting the Cup, and will now appear in the Champions League for the first time.

Bodo/Glimt - NEC Nijmegen 3:0 (6:1 on aggregate). The Norwegian vice-champion will be part of the Champions League for the second time in a row. Last season, they advanced from the league stage with surprising victories over Manchester City and Atletico Madrid, eliminated Inter, and beat Sporting Lisbon 3:0 in the round of 16. They dream of a similar journey this time as well, and closed the story easily against Chery's group.

Any hope for NEC Nijmegen to overturn the 3:1 home loss vanished after three minutes with the early sending off of Spanish goalkeeper Gonzalo Cartas. Bodo/Glimt waited until stoppage time of the first half to score, when Sondre Auklend assisted Fredrik Bjorkan (45+2') and then scored himself (45+5'). An own goal by Davron Funbil (73') concluded the match. Chery was substituted at halftime, and NEC Nijmegen will console themselves in the Europa League.
