3,000 NIS for one day: Applications open for polling station secretary
The Central Elections Committee has opened the application process for polling station secretaries for the upcoming October elections. Applications are accepted until August 14, with a gross payment of 3,000 NIS for the day.
The Central Elections Committee invites the public to apply for the position of polling station secretary for the Knesset elections scheduled for October 27, 2026. The online application system opened on Monday and will remain active until August 14 at 17:00. The system is accessible daily between 07:00 and 23:00.
A polling station secretary is responsible for the proper management of the polling station, including voter identification, maintaining protocols, ensuring the station opens and closes on time, and delivering voting results and materials to the regional elections committee. The compensation for this work is 3,000 NIS gross, subject to a special 18% tax.
Requirements for applicants:

Must be 21 years of age or older on the day of the 26th Knesset elections.

No membership or activity on behalf of a political party during the 3 years preceding the election.

Consent to a criminal record check by the Central Elections Committee.

12 years of schooling.

Full command of Hebrew and strong verbal communication skills.

Ability to handle intensive work under pressure during a long shift.

High attention to detail.
Preference is given to Arabic speakers and those with previous election experience. Note that candidates may only apply for one position. The selection process includes registration, online training and testing, an interview at the regional committee, a 4-hour in-person training session, and a certification exam.
