At 29: Internet personality reveals the biggest fear of her life
After a difficult incident she experienced at the age of 20 on the highway, social activist Orian Spivak decided to confront the fear that has accompanied her for many years and take a first dramatic step toward change.
Orian Spivak, an internet personality and social activist who works against transphobia and for the LGBTQ+ community, shared a personal and moving development with her followers. After years of avoiding getting on the road due to a great fear, she decided to confront the apprehension and go to her first driving lesson.
Spivak, who recently made headlines following a transphobic incident she experienced with a soldier, said that for years she carried a significant fear of driving following an event she went through at the age of 20. According to her, she was traveling then with several friends on a highway when the vehicle they were in collided with a wall at a speed of about 100 km/h. Since then, the road became one of her greatest fears.
In a video she posted on social media, she said she decided not to let fear control her anymore.
"I looked fear in the eyes," she said, explaining that she felt the time had come to deal with the thing that has accompanied her for years.
According to her, the fact that at 29 she still does not have a driver's license also caused her a sense of discomfort, and therefore she decided to make a change. She obtained a "green form" and began the process of learning to drive.
After her first lesson, Spivak shared her feelings and said she was pleasantly surprised by the experience. "I had fun, I finished the lesson and it was amazing," she told her followers.
At the end of her remarks, she conveyed a message of coping and achieving goals: "We need to chase our dreams." For Spivak, the first driving lesson was not only a step on the way to getting a license, but also a personal confrontation with a fear she had held for years.
