23 million euros per season: Mohamed Salah on the way to a surprising move
Dramatic reports in Turkey reveal that one of the greatest players of the last decade has agreed to a two-year deal, and will receive, in addition to the huge salary, full profits from jersey sales outside the country.
Mohamed Salah, captain of the Egyptian national team and one of the most prominent football players in the world over the last decade, may be opening a new chapter in his career. The 34-year-old star, who has won numerous titles over the years and became one of the symbols of the Premier League, is at the center of reports in Turkey according to which he has reached an agreement with Trabzonspor on a two-year contract, with the second year expected to be optional.
According to reports in the Turkish media, Trabzonspor submitted an improved offer to Salah worth about 23 million euros per season, after entering the race at a later stage. As part of the emerging agreement, it is claimed that the player will also receive full profits from the sale of his jerseys outside of Turkey and 25% of jersey sales in the local market.
Even before Trabzonspor entered the picture, Salah conducted lengthy negotiations with Beşiktaş. According to the publications, the club's offer included a salary of about 15 million euros per season, a signing bonus of 4 million euros, bonuses, and advertising agreements, including a collaboration with the airline Turkish Airlines. However, the deal did not go through, partly due to a high agent commission demand from Salah's representative, Ramy Abbas.
Reports claim that the deal with Trabzonspor also relies heavily on sponsorship agreements that will help finance the costs. According to journalist Mustafa Ozgur Sancar, the club aims to finance about 70% of the deal's cost through sponsors, with the agent's commission also integrated into the commercial agreements.
If all details are finalized in the coming days, Salah is expected to arrive in Turkey to officially complete the move. At this stage, these are reports from the Turkish media, and no official announcement has yet been released by the player or the club.
