The Toto Cup continued this Saturday as Ironi Tiberias hosted Maccabi Petah Tikva at the Barael stadium for the ranking matches. Although Ziv Arie's side struggled in the first half, they eventually dominated the second, securing a 0:3 victory and 11th place in the tournament.
The hosts started strongly, with Nana Gamble creating several promising opportunities. However, as the first half progressed, the momentum shifted, and Maccabi Petah Tikva, led by Marko Rakoniac, began to dictate the pace of the game.
Coach Ziv Arie's substitutions proved decisive in the second half. Jose Cortes made an immediate impact, assisting Liran Hazan for the opening goal in the 47th minute. In the 79th minute, Ido Cohen capitalized on a cross from captain Aviv Salem to score with his shoulder. The standout performer, Cortes, capped off the celebration in the 84th minute, finishing a play set up by substitute Ariel Lugasi.
Both teams are now turning their attention to the Premier League season opener. Maccabi Petah Tikva will host Ironi Kiryat Shmona, while Tiberias will face Hapoel Petah Tikva. Both matches are scheduled for next Saturday at 20:00.
