The "groupies" in Nazi Germany who adored the tyrant were not necessarily attracted to his physical appearance, but desired him because in their eyes he radiated power and control. Particularly persistent women, who obsessively sent him explicit letters, were punished and sent to a concentration camp or labor camp on the grounds that they were "distracting the Führer from his important work."
