Swiss voters overwhelmingly rejected a referendum initiative to enshrine strict neutrality into the federal constitution, preserving the government's ability to apply sanctions and cooperate with international partners.

In September, a referendum will be held in the country that has sought to remain neutral since 1815. The initiative, which seeks to limit the possibility of imposing sanctions on warring states and reduce cooperation with military alliances, is opposed by most major parties. Another poll indicates a smaller gap between opponents and supporters.

The new Prime Minister of Iraq, Ali al-Zaidi, is seeking to shift the country's foreign policy. As part of his plan to avoid regional tensions, he declared that Iraq will not join any military or security alliances.

Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef stated on Monday that his country's decision to distance itself from the regional conflict reflects "deep strategic wisdom." He emphasized that this approach protects national security and prioritizes the future of coming generations.
