Livio Berruti

Livio Berruti was only 21 when he won the 200-meter dash at the 1960 Rome Olympics, becoming the first European to win gold in the event. The Italian sprinter, famous for his sunglasses and white socks, equaled the world record twice in a matter of hours and became a national hero.
