Great Synagogue

New archaeological findings at the Great Synagogue of Vilnius shed light on the Jewish life that thrived for centuries in one of Eastern Europe's most important centers. Excavations have revealed remains of the central Bima, the women's section, colorful floors, and personal items, including seat plaques with the names of regular worshippers and a plaque with the Ten Commandments.
