Dolphins

A team from the University of the Sunshine Coast has documented Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins in Hervey Bay, Queensland, using empty shells as hunting tools. This behavior, known as "shelling," was previously only observed in dolphins in Shark Bay, thousands of kilometers away from this new discovery.

Dolphins use various tools for hunting, including shells, and now a group of researchers in Australia has managed to document the rare sight: "I screamed with excitement."

Liquidators for The Dolphin Company have petitioned a Delaware bankruptcy court to approve the sale of assets, including 87 dolphins. The $20 million deal awaits judicial review amid an ongoing corporate dispute.
