Collision

Perhaps one of the most dramatic events in the history of our solar system happened much faster than previously thought. According to a new study, the Moon could have formed almost entirely within just five hours following a massive collision approximately 4.5 billion years ago.

This is not the first time remnants of human space activity have collided with the Moon, and the phenomenon is becoming a growing concern. The impact will eject a cloud of dust and rock fragments above the lunar surface, though it will be difficult to observe from Earth without a powerful telescope.
