Aston Villa

Aston Villa overcame a tough domestic start with a 3-2 win at Club Brugge in the Champions League, while AEK Athens defeated LASK Linz 1-0 on their tournament return.

Reports from Europe indicate that while Emery sought a loan deal for the Portuguese star, Galatasaray secured his signature with a 43 million euro offer. The player is scheduled for medical tests at the end of the week before finalizing the move.

Aston Villa sold players for 353 million euros this summer - just below the record set by Monaco in 2018/19. Manchester City is also still in the race.

The European champion defeated the Europa League holder 2:1 with goals from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (20') and Desiré Doué (61'), adding another trophy to their collection. Brian Madjou (45') scored a temporary equalizer.
