Ex-SolarEdge CEO Zvi Lando Appointed Chairman of Apollo Power
Former SolarEdge CEO Zvi Lando has been appointed chairman of the board of flexible solar film maker Apollo Power, replacing Yom Tov Samia.

Former SolarEdge CEO Zvi Lando has been appointed as the chairman of the board of Apollo Power, a developer and manufacturer of flexible solar films, the company announced on Monday. Lando replaces Maj. Gen. (res.) Yom Tov Samia, who stepped down last August after serving an eight-year term.
Lando joined SolarEdge in 2009 and spent about a decade in global sales management roles. In 2019, he was appointed CEO, during which time SolarEdge entered the S&P 500 index and peaked in 2022 at a market cap of nearly $20 billion. However, the company subsequently entered a deep crisis due to inventory gluts in Europe and rising US interest rates, which hurt demand for solar systems. In August 2024, Lando announced his resignation as CEO after the stock lost nearly 90% of its value that year.
Lando has served as an Apollo Power director since May 2025 and is now moving to the role of chairman. The appointment comes as Apollo Power expands its commercial activity abroad, particularly in the US. The company develops flexible solar films for surfaces where standard panels are difficult to install, such as vehicles. In August 2025, the company renewed a €14.5 million agreement with Volkswagen to install films on electric vehicles. Apollo Power CEO Oded Rosenberg stated that Lando's experience will help expand US operations.
