Zverev Crushes Shang to Set Up Blockbuster Djokovic Clash in Beijing

Alexander Zverev delivered another impressive performance on Saturday, crushing local hope Shang Juncheng 6-0, 6-3 at the Beijing tournament. The German advanced to the quarterfinals, where he will face Novak Djokovic in a blockbuster clash.

Shang, who missed four months of the season due to fitness issues, looked physically limited at times, and Zverev took full advantage. The tournament's top seed fired nine aces and lost just three of the 28 points on his first serve, securing the victory in 55 minutes under the closed roof in Beijing.

Now awaits one of the biggest challenges of the tournament. Djokovic has won in Beijing six times, while Zverev holds the most wins on the tour in 2026, with a season record of 58-14.
