Zelensky: Russia plans to bring 30,000 North Korean soldiers into the war
The President of Ukraine reported that Russia has been preparing for over a month to receive reinforcements from its ally. Volodymyr Zelensky added that North Korea also plans to supply Russia with new ballistic missile launchers, posing a threat to countries in Asia.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that Russia is preparing to receive 30,000 soldiers from North Korea to participate in the war. This is not the first instance of such cooperation; in 2024, as part of a mutual defense agreement, North Korea sent approximately 14,000 troops to the Kursk region to assist Moscow in repelling a major Ukrainian incursion.
"We see Russia's cooperation with North Korea. Russia wants to bring 30,000 additional North Korean soldiers. Preparations in the Voronezh region in Russia have been taking place since June to receive them," said Volodymyr Zelensky in a recorded address.
The Ukrainian President further noted that North Korea is preparing to supply Russia with new launchers for ballistic missiles. According to Zelensky, Russia is teaching North Korean forces how to conduct modern warfare, helping them improve their weaponry and gain actual combat experience.
"This is a threat not only to Ukraine. Russia is helping North Korea learn how to conduct war, improve its weapons, and gain real combat experience in using them. All of this constitutes a threat to any country in Asia that is within range of North Korean missiles," warned Volodymyr Zelensky. At the end of his remarks, the President of Ukraine vowed that his country would respond to this emerging threat.
