Yosef Haddad, the number two in the Amcha Yisrael Party, defended the inclusion of the Ra'am party in a governing coalition during a 2021 English-language interview, contradicting current positions.

In the interview broadcasted on Channel 13, Haddad stated that voters, including Christians, supported the Islamist political party because it pledged to work for Arab society, calling it a massive political reality in the country.

Haddad emphasized that Arab citizens should be proud both of their heritage and of being Israelis, adding that having an Arab party focusing on local domestic issues rather than regional conflicts was a welcome development.
