Ahead of Yom Kippur, the Sapir Group and the OneFamily organization have launched a joint memorial initiative to honor the victims of the October 7 massacres and fallen soldiers. As part of the campaign, 50,000 memorial candles will be made available to the public for 5 NIS each under the message "We all light together."

The initiative aims to allow the public to light a candle in memory of someone who lost their life since October 7, dedicating a moment to their memory, name, and life story. The candles will be distributed ahead of Yom Kippur across Sapir Group retail chains during a period when many traditionally light memorial candles for their loved ones.

Supporting Bereaved Families

Behind the names added to the circle of bereavement since October 7 are families, friends, and communities grappling with profound loss and longing. The Sapir Group and OneFamily seek to give the national memory a personal expression by encouraging citizens to light a candle for specific victims.

"Yom Kippur is a day when memory takes on a deeply profound meaning. This year, alongside personal memories, thousands of families bear a new and painful void," said Oren and Avinoam Sapir, CEOs of the Sapir Group.

All proceeds from the candle sales will be donated directly to OneFamily, an organization supporting bereaved families and victims of terror. Since October 7, the organization has significantly expanded its operations, providing personal and emotional support, support groups, community activities, and ongoing assistance.

A Nationwide Expression of Solidarity

Moshe Saville, CEO of OneFamily, emphasized the importance of public solidarity during the solemn holiday. He noted that for bereaved families, the pain of loss is an everyday reality rather than a once-a-year remembrance.

  • Distribution of 50,000 memorial candles across Sapir Group locations.

  • Affordable pricing of 5 NIS per candle to ensure widespread participation.

  • 100% of profits dedicated to supporting victims of terror through OneFamily.
