Yisrael Beytenu Unveils Comprehensive Rehabilitation Plan for Wounded IDF Soldiers
Yisrael Beytenu unveiled a comprehensive national rehabilitation program for wounded IDF soldiers and security personnel, aiming to overhaul the system and eliminate bureaucratic hurdles.
The "Yisrael Beytenu" party presented its comprehensive rehabilitation program for wounded IDF soldiers and security personnel during a dedicated conference for reservists. Led by Captain (res.) Israel Ben Shitrit, who was severely wounded in Khan Yunis during the "Swords of Iron" war, the initiative aims to fundamentally overhaul Israel's rehabilitation paradigm.
Since October 7, tens of thousands of soldiers have sustained physical and psychological injuries. In response, Yisrael Beytenu proposed the "Ongoing Mission" program, designed to provide accessible, proactive, and individualized support.
Key pillars of the program include establishing a fast-track process for combat-wounded soldiers to bypass bureaucratic hurdles, appointing a single dedicated case manager within the Rehabilitation Department, and expanding mental health services with early detection technologies. The plan also emphasizes family support, long-term housing solutions, specialized care for amputees, and removing barriers to employment and education.
"Those who fought for the country should not have to fight the state to recover," Captain Ben Shitrit stated. "I was wounded in battle and know the heavy price paid long after leaving the hospital. I am proud to be part of Yisrael Beytenu and thank party leader Avigdor Lieberman for his steadfast commitment."
Party leader Avigdor Lieberman emphasized the moral imperative of the initiative, stating: "In the next government, we will build a rehabilitation system that sees the person, not just the disability percentage—from body and mind to family and independence."
