Renowned Israeli Author and Poet Yehuda Atlas Passes Away at 87

Renowned Israeli author and journalist Yehuda Atlas has passed away at the age of 87. Following the sad news, media personality Adva Dadon shared a heartfelt farewell message on her Instagram account.

In her story, Dadon posted a photo of Atlas alongside a broken heart emoji, revealing that the two had maintained a personal connection until recently. Quoting their last exchanges, Dadon wrote: "Yehuda Atlas. Just a few weeks ago we were messaging, we planned to meet with Ilan, I wished you a happy holiday, and now this news." She expressed deep sorrow over their unfulfilled plans, concluding, "How sad that this will no longer happen. Rest in peace, Yuda."

Atlas, a recipient of the Ze'ev Prize for children's and youth literature, published dozens of books, studies, and translations throughout his life. His most famous work, the series "And This Child Is Me," was published in 1977 and became an inseparable part of the Israeli bookshelf. His passing drew widespread reactions of mourning from cultural and literary figures across the country.
