Yair Golan responds for the first time to the controversy: "Israel kills babies as a hobby"
In a special interview with Reshet 13, the politician addressed the harsh remarks he made during the war, clarifying that he was referring to government ministers rather than soldiers, and issued a sharp warning to Channel 14.

Chairman of The Democrats Yair Golan responds in an interview with 'Asenheim' on Reshet 13, to be broadcast this evening (Thursday), to the major controversy he caused during the war, in which he claimed that Israel 'kills babies in Gaza as a hobby'. During the interview, he was asked if he intended to convey that message and admitted: "This is absolutely not what I wanted to say. In that entire interview with Aryeh Golan on Reshet Bet, I did not mention the IDF even once. I also did not say that Israel kills; I was referring to statements by government ministers, which were shocking."
When asked for examples of such statements, Golan replied: "They said, 'every day one must kill so and so many people,' 'one must not leave a single person in Gaza,' 'there are no innocent people in Gaza,' 'one must drop an atomic bomb on Gaza.' Hello, you are ministers in the government of Israel. You are not in a primary right now for one party or another; what happened to you? Have you gone mad?"
In the same interview, Golan also attacked Channel 14, stating: "Channel 14 is a propaganda channel. Either it will become a media channel, or it will be closed. Channel 12, which I also have criticisms of, operates as a media channel. Channel 14 operates as a propaganda channel, and the big difference lies between a complete lack of loyalty to the truth and... you can, as they say, argue about it, but it is still connected to reality."
