Israeli Entrepreneur Yaki Reisner Opens Up About Leaving Ultra-Orthodox Roots
Real estate magnate and "Vort" star Yaki Reisner revealed in a television interview how breaking away from ultra-Orthodox traditions led to being cut off by his family.

Real estate entrepreneur and film producer Yaki Reisner opened up about the personal price he paid for charting an unconventional path outside the ultra-Orthodox community. Known for his role in the Channel 13 matchmaking reality show "Vort", Reisner shared his life story during an emotional interview on the television program "Asenheim".
Breaking Away from Tradition
Born in Bnei Brak into a prominent Lithuanian ultra-Orthodox family, Reisner is the grandson of Rabbi Avraham Reisner and the great-grandson of Rabbi Mordechai Yaakov Breisch. Growing up as the sixth of nine children, his decision to pursue a business career rather than traditional full-time Torah study came with significant familial fallout. When asked by interviewer Asenheim whether his grandmother had disinherited him, Reisner candidly responded: "She told me, 'You want to go out to work? Figure it out on your own.'"

From Warehouse Worker to Mogul and Producer
Reisner began his professional journey at age 20 as a warehouse worker for the construction company Z. Landau, gradually rising through the ranks to procurement and entrepreneurship manager. By age 25, he founded the Reisdor Group. Established in 2005, the company specializes in residential neighborhoods, commercial centers, and long-term rental projects.
In addition to his immense success in real estate, Reisner made a name for himself in the entertainment industry. In 2020, he co-produced the hit cinema film "Matchmakers" ("Bachurim Tovim"), which explored the ultra-Orthodox dating world. The film became a massive box office success after its September 2022 release, selling over 300,000 tickets. Later, Reisner brought his expertise to television by co-hosting and producing the reality show "Vort" alongside journalist and matchmaker Sarah Pachter.
