Xiaomi Poco F9 Ultra Review: Massive Battery and Flagship Specs
Xiaomi's new Poco F9 Ultra smartphone features an 8,050 mAh silicon-carbon battery, a 6.9-inch 185 Hz AMOLED display, and a 200-megapixel main camera.

Smartphone prices have climbed to new highs in recent years, especially flagship models. Consumers seeking top-tier capabilities must now spend at least 4,500 shekels, depending on model size and storage capacity.
Chinese smartphone manufacturers continuously attempt to produce the ultimate "flagship killer"—premium devices at lower price points. Xiaomi is now introducing the Poco F9 Ultra, which on paper combines flagship-grade components, refined finishes, and an accessible price tag.
The Main Innovation: The Battery
The highlight of the Poco F9 Ultra is its massive 8,050 mAh battery, a significant jump from the previous generation's 6,500 mAh capacity. This is made possible by the transition to silicon-carbon battery technology, offering much higher energy density than standard lithium-ion batteries without increasing physical dimensions.
The device easily delivers two days of intensive work. Charging performance is also robust, supporting 100W fast wired charging that fills the enormous power reserve in about an hour and a half. However, Poco decided to follow industry trends by omitting the compatible charger from the retail box.
The Prominent Advantage: Price
With a price tag hovering around 3,800 shekels, the Poco F9 Ultra maintains a level nearly identical to its predecessor. This is exceptionally competitive relative to its high-end specifications, leaving few market alternatives offering a comparable hardware package at this price point.
Display and Performance
The Poco F9 Ultra features an impressive 6.9-inch AMOLED panel with a dynamic refresh rate reaching up to 185 Hz, well above the 120 Hz standard. The screen achieves a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, ensuring sharp colors and excellent visibility even under direct sunlight.
Under the hood, the device runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage in the base configuration. A positive surprise comes from the audio system: alongside dual stereo speakers, Xiaomi integrated a dedicated subwoofer developed in partnership with Bose, delivering rich, deep sound.
Camera and Design
The primary camera sensor jumps from 50 megapixels in the previous generation to 200 megapixels, accompanied by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, a 50-megapixel telephoto sensor with 5x optical zoom, and a 32-megapixel selfie camera. While the automatic mode captures sharp details, the image processing algorithm occasionally tends toward over-saturation.
Weighing 235 grams, the device is somewhat heavy, which can cause fatigue during extended use. Nevertheless, the aluminum frame and matte back finish provide a luxurious feel and robust grip.
