A woman in her 50s was seriously injured after her vehicle overturned and fell from a bridge onto the Ayalon Highway. Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics and EMTs provided medical treatment at the scene and evacuated her to Ichilov Hospital with a head injury.
MDA paramedic Elhanan Alon and EMTs Motti Beer and Yoni Friedman, who arrived at the scene, stated: 'We received a report of a vehicle that overturned after falling from the bridge. Upon arrival, we found the vehicle upside down with a woman in her 50s inside, suffering from a state of clouded consciousness and a severe head injury.'
'We began a complex rescue operation, which included stabilization while providing medical treatment. After extracting her, we evacuated her in an MDA intensive care ambulance to the hospital in serious condition,' they added.
This serious accident on Highway 20 follows another tragic event on the same road earlier this week, when a 19-year-old was killed in a fatal crash near the Glilot East interchange. Three other young people sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious.
MDA teams summoned to that scene provided medical treatment but were forced to pronounce the 19-year-old dead after he was found with no signs of life, suffering from multi-system trauma.
