An especially significant heatwave is expected to begin today, Thursday, and continue throughout the weekend, as temperatures rise slightly and heat stress intensifies. The weather will become hotter than usual throughout the day, reaching sharav conditions in the mountains and inland areas.
On Friday, sharav conditions will continue in the mountains and inland areas, with heavy to extreme heat stress across the country. On Saturday, the heatwave will reach its peak, with a further increase in heat stress. In the Kinneret area, the Jordan Valley, and the Arava, temperatures are expected to reach extreme values of 45–47 degrees.
On Sunday, the weather will continue to be hotter and drier than usual for the season in inland areas and the mountains, while the coastal plain will remain humid and very muggy. Heavy to extreme heat stress will continue to prevail in most parts of the country, mainly during the afternoon hours, as the heatwave is expected to continue into the beginning of next week.
