The Israel Police published a warning to the public this morning (Wednesday) regarding messages posing as official notifications about traffic fines. In reality, these are fraudulent messages intended to trick citizens into providing personal information.
The police issued a warning against false SMS messages being distributed since this morning. These messages claim to be official notifications from the Israel Police and the Traffic Fines Center, containing a demand for payment via an attached link.
"This is a fake message intended to mislead the public and facilitate the theft of personal details and payment information," the Israel Police stated. They added:
"Do not click on the link attached to the message. Do not provide personal details or credit card information. It is recommended to delete the message immediately. The public is asked to remain vigilant and verify any payment demand solely through official channels."
