Stolen from the IDF: LAW rocket, pistols, and grenades in a cache uncovered in a shelter in Ramle
Central District police detectives located a LAW rocket, four pistols, and four fragmentation grenades in a residential building shelter in Ramle, suspected to have been stolen from the IDF; a man in his 20s was arrested.
An arms cache containing a LAW rocket, four pistols, and four fragmentation grenades was uncovered this morning, Monday, in the shelter of a residential building in Ramle. It is suspected that the weapons were stolen from the IDF. A young man in his 20s, a local resident, was arrested.
The cache was located as part of the fight against weapons offenses and serious crime in the Arab sector. The police are investigating how the weapons reached the location and for which parties and purposes they were intended. Tomorrow, the police are expected to bring the suspect to the Magistrate's Court in Rishon LeZion and request an extension of his detention. All the weapons were transferred to the police forensic laboratories for testing and evidence extraction.
Central District Commander, Nitzav Amir Cohen, said: "This is a significant operational achievement, in which dangerous weapons that could have been used by criminal elements to commit serious offenses were removed from the street." According to him, "We will continue to act with determination until all those involved are brought to justice, in order to ensure the safety and security of the public."
