Vehicles and mosques set on fire: Reports of retaliatory actions by Jews in Judea and Samaria
Tensions are rising in Judea and Samaria following reports of overnight retaliatory attacks, including the burning of mosques, homes, and vehicles, in response to the killing of two Israelis.
Tensions in Judea and Samaria are rising: on social media and in Palestinian media outlets, it was reported this morning (Sunday) that Jewish rioters carried out a number of retaliatory actions throughout the night, which included the burning of mosques, vehicles, and houses in various areas of Judea and Samaria. Additionally, graffiti calling for revenge was sprayed.
In the village of Kur, located south of Tulkarm, the rioters set fire to a mosque and wrote on its walls: "Jewish blood is not cheap." At the same time, the Qatari channel "Al-Arabiya" reported that Jewish rioters set fire to a house in the officers' neighborhood east of Nablus. Furthermore, Jewish rioters attacked a house in Beit Furik and sprayed on its walls: "Jews, wake up."
Also, a mosque was set on fire in the village of Qusra in the Nablus area, and on its walls was written: "Revenge for Binyahu," as an act of retaliation for the death of Binyahu Malet, a member of the Havat Gilad rapid response team who was killed the day before yesterday in a shooting attack. Meanwhile, settlers set fire to several vehicles in the Beitillu area.
Two days ago, 32-year-old Binyahu Malet, a father of two daughters, and 27-year-old Major Yuval Ezra from Herzliya, a battery commander in the 411th Battalion of the Fire Brigade (282) of the Artillery Corps, were killed in the shooting attack in Samaria. Hundreds accompanied Malet to his final resting place, including ministers Orit Strock, Yitzhak Wasserlauf, Amichai Chikli, and Ze'ev Elkin.
The attack began when a group of Israeli hikers arrived without coordination with the IDF for a hike near a mosque in the village of Tell and encountered Palestinians who attacked them. The Havat Gilad security officer rushed to the scene with Binyahu Malet, a member of the rapid response team, and a confrontation began between the sides. At this stage, the Palestinians snatched Malet's weapon and opened fire. An IDF officer eliminated the terrorist, and the forces recovered the snatched weapon. At least four Palestinians were killed.
