Jerusalem's Yitzhak Navon Station Evacuated Due to Suspected Smoke

Passengers were evacuated from the Yitzhak Navon train station in Jerusalem on Thursday following a report of smoke. Fire and rescue forces from the HaUma district were dispatched to the station to conduct a thorough search and rule out any potential danger.
Following the inspection, no source of smoke was located, and no unusual findings were reported. It was determined that what appeared to be smoke was likely dust raised by construction work in the area. Once the area was declared safe, passengers were allowed to return to the station, and operations resumed.
The commander of the Jerusalem district of the Fire and Rescue Authority, Tafsar Shmulik Friedman, commented on the incident:
"Train stations are complex and crowded centers, where we are required to be prepared for any scenario, from fire and smoke events to complex emergency situations with many casualties."
"The Israel Fire and Rescue Authority regularly conducts training at station sites to ensure a fast, professional, and coordinated response during real-time events," he added. In this instance, firefighters acted quickly and performed comprehensive searches until the danger was ruled out.
