Families of American citizens killed, kidnapped, and injured in the Hamas terror attacks gathered at the US State Department in Washington. Relatives of the victims came to honor their loved ones at a special memorial ceremony, calling to bring those responsible for the massacre to justice.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and Alison Lutnick hosted the ceremony, commemorating the Americans affected by the October 7, 2023 attacks. Participants noted that nearly 50 US citizens were killed and dozens injured, alongside mentions of hostages taken to the Gaza Strip.
Avi Own, cousin of Carmela Dan who was murdered in Nir Oz along with her granddaughter Noya Dan, emphasized that October 7 was not just a tragedy for Israel. Ruby and Hagit Chen, parents of soldier Itay Chen whose body was abducted to Gaza, also attended the event.
