US Bond Yields Hit 24-Year High as Global Markets Trade Mixed
Global markets show mixed trends as US bond yields hit a 24-year high of 5.36%. Wall Street tech stocks recover while European political tensions persist.

The US dollar is trading around 3.10 shekels this morning, while the euro stands at approximately 3.49 shekels and the Japanese yen is trading around 0.01965 shekels. Global foreign exchange markets recorded a mixed trend, as the US Dollar Index (DXY) strengthened by 0.2% to 101.98 points, driven by fluctuations in financial markets and ongoing concerns over global economic and political developments.
Global Markets and Wall Street
Wall Street saw a recovery in technology stocks, with the Nasdaq index rising by more than 1.1% and the S&P 500 strengthening by about 0.4%. Meanwhile, the Dow Jones index traded relatively flat with a slight downward bias. In Asia, a mixed trend was observed following third-quarter growth data in China pointing to an annual growth rate of 4.5%, beating forecasts and providing support to regional markets.
A primary factor weighing on markets is the US bond market. The yield on the United States 10-year government bond crossed the 5.36% threshold, reaching its highest level in 24 years. Rising yields increase financing costs for corporations and could pressure equity markets, particularly technology firms sensitive to capital cost shifts.
Commodities and European Tension
Moderate movements were also recorded in the commodities market: Brent crude traded around $108.5 per barrel, while WTI crude hovered near $101. Gold remained stable at a high level of approximately $4,170 per ounce. In the crypto market, Bitcoin traded around $81,906, and Ethereum rose by about 0.3% to approximately $2,405.
"Market sentiment remains delicately balanced between recovering risk appetite and mounting pressures from rising bond yields and European political instability."
In Europe, political tensions continue to preoccupy investors. In France, curfews were imposed in several cities amid riots tied to tensions ahead of the 2027 budget vote, while in Italy, 500 soldiers were deployed following civil unrest. Despite the tension, the euro traded relatively stable around $1.1216 after European stock indices closed higher.
