Dr. Uri Goldberg, an expert on modern Iran and revolutionary movements in Shia Islam, passed away last night at the age of 50. His eldest daughter, Abigail, announced his death on his social media account, stating that her father died following a long battle with colon cancer.

"Hello, this is Abigail. Uri's eldest daughter. I am sorry to announce that my father passed away last night, after a long battle with colon cancer. He was 50 years old. In one sentence, he was the best dad in the world," she wrote.

Goldberg specialized in the study of modern Iran and Shia radicalism. Alongside his academic research, he taught courses at the Adelson School of Government at Reichman University focusing on radical Islam, identities, and the relationship between religion and violence.

Beyond academia, Goldberg wrote and shared thoughts on faith, politics, baseball, and various other topics, guided by the belief that everything is interconnected. A significant portion of his public engagement took place on social media platforms.

Abigail's announcement placed the family aspect at the center, choosing to remember him first as a devoted father. Goldberg is survived by his children.
