Urgent Recall Issued for Dangerous Universal Travel Adapter in Israel
Israel's Ministry of Economy has issued an urgent recall for the EUROPE TRAVEL UNIVERSAL ADAPTOR (Model 931L) from China due to severe electrocution and fire risks.

A recall has been issued for a popular universal electrical adapter due to severe safety risks, including electrocution and fire hazards. The Ministry of Economy and Industry's Chief Standardization Officer announced the recall following laboratory tests conducted by the Standards Institution of Israel.
The recalled item is the EUROPE TRAVEL UNIVERSAL ADAPTOR, Model: 931L, Barcode: 6944284452183, manufactured in China and marketed in Israel by Yifat Sasson. Laboratory testing concluded that the product fails to meet official Israeli standards (SI 32 Part 2.5).
Critical Safety Failures
Testing revealed several dangerous defects in the adapter's construction:
-
Direct contact risk: The design allows users to touch live electrical parts while plugging or unplugging the device.
-
Lack of grounding: The adapter lacks a grounding mechanism, increasing the risk of fatal electric shock during a short circuit.
-
Mechanical weakness: Metal pins can detach from the body and remain stuck in the wall socket while the casing breaks apart, leaving exposed live wires.
-
Flammability: The plastic material is not heat-resistant and may melt or ignite under normal operating conditions.
Consumers possessing this adapter are urged to stop using it immediately, disconnect it carefully from the power outlet, and contact the distributor Yifat Sasson at 054-4267575 for inquiries and product returns.
