Unique Tech Portfolio Firm Motive Raises $1.3B, Postpones IPO
Unique Tech announced that its portfolio company Motive Technologies raised $1.3 billion from General Catalyst, postponing its IPO. Motive's ARR has surpassed $600 million.

Unique Tech, a publicly traded venture capital investment company focusing on mature, revenue-generating technology growth firms, announced that Motive Technologies—one of its portfolio companies whose shares Unique Tech acquired—has raised approximately $1.3 billion from General Catalyst, one of the world's leading venture capital funds. Due to this massive funding round, the company has decided to postpone its planned IPO for the time being.
The capital injection is intended, among other things, to accelerate the development of Motive's artificial intelligence platform, expand its global sales and marketing apparatus, and deepen its engagement with large enterprise clients. Motive specializes in developing and selling AI-powered systems for operations management, commercial vehicle fleets, and heavy equipment.
According to Motive's disclosures surrounding the financing, the company's annual recurring revenue (ARR) has surpassed $600 million, marking a roughly 30% increase compared to the previous year. Additionally, the firm experienced a nearly 60% growth in high-value customers generating over $100,000 in annual revenue.
Avi Gefen, CEO of Unique Tech, commented on the announcement: "In the past, we acquired shares from an existing shareholder in Motive. Since then, the company has made significant strides, including substantial sales growth, strengthening its management team, expanding operations beyond the United States, and now securing a major funding round from a leading fund."
Gefen added, "The investment in Motive exemplifies the investment profile of our partnership, which focuses on leading, mature companies with high growth potential and significant business expansion, in order to generate value for our investors."
