Car covered in 3,400 lipstick kisses as part of a viral trend - driver fined
The girlfriend of a young man from India spent 3.5 hours imprinting thousands of lipstick kisses on his car. Traffic police tracked the vehicle via social media and fined the owner. He was allowed to drive only after the marks were removed and the car was washed.
Traffic police in the Indian city of Gwalior fined a car owner approximately 245 shekels after his car was spotted completely covered in lipstick kiss marks. According to a report in the Indian economic daily The Economic Times, the police reached the car owner after photos of the vehicle went viral on social media.
Indian news channel Aaj Tak reported that officers used the license plate number, which was clearly visible in the circulated photos, to locate the car and summon its owner, Aditya Sikarwar, for questioning.
During his questioning, Sikarwar said that his girlfriend was responsible for the act, and that she did it as part of a viral trend online. The Indian news network NDTV noted that the woman dedicated about 3.5 hours to the task, during which she used several different lipsticks to imprint no less than 3,400 kisses on the car.
When the car was spotted driving on the road with the lipstick marks covering the doors, hood, and trunk, the police stopped it and initiated proceedings against him for traffic violations.
According to reports, the owner pleaded guilty, removed the kiss marks, and the car was completely washed of all lipstick residue before he was allowed to return to the road.
